BENGALURU: A two-year-old child died under suspicious circumstances on Indira Street, Banaswadi a few days ago. The child Scarlet Daisy died due to breathing problems, the parents claimed. But there is suspicion on the father and mother.

Jason Anthony and Roselyn have been in a live-in relationship for several years and had a baby girl. Two days ago, the child suddenly developed breathing problems, but by the time they reached the local hospital, the child had already died.

Police received information about this the same night and on Thursday, a friend of the couple filed a complaint regarding the child’s death. “The mother used to beat the child, I have seen it”, complainant Samruddhi said. She filed a complaint stating that there is suspicion about the child’s death as injuries were also found on some parts of the child’s body.

A case of suspicious death has been registered at Banaswadi police station under Section 194 of BNSS. The cause of death will be known after the post-mortem report is received by the police.

However, the child’s father Jason Anthony Dais has denied the allegations. He said, “The child had breathing problems since birth. I also have breathing problems”. He also said the injury on the child’s hand was caused by the mother hitting her.

Meanwhile, the child’s mother Roselyn gave a different statement. “The complainant Samruddhi fought with me. When I gave medicine to the child, the child got scared and had a panic attack. Because she had breathing problems from the beginning, this happened”, she said.

The complainant Samruddhi said, “The child had breathing problems. Even when we took her to the hospital, the child was fine and conscious. That’s why I filed a complaint saying this happened because the mother assaulted her”.
