The victim, Nandini Das, who hails from West Bengal, and the accused, Bande Nawaz, who is from Kolar, were both studying at a private college and were in a relationship. However, Nandini’s family opposed their relationship and was reportedly making arrangements for her marriage to another man.

The Varthur police, turned off the gas cylinder, broke open the door and took both Nandini and the accused to nearby private hospitals for treatment. Currently, Nandini Das is in serious condition and is being treated in the ICU. Bande Nawaz is also receiving treatment at a private hospital.
