BENGALURU: A bakery owner was killed in a hit-and-run accident near Kempaiah Nagar, within the jurisdiction of the Chikkabanavara traffic police station in North Bengaluru on Monday night. The victim was identified as Vinod (28).
Vinod ran a bakery along with his brother and on Monday night, he was returning home after closing the bakery in Madanayakanahalli. He lived in Hessarghatta and was on his way back home. While he was riding an Honda Activa scooter, a Tempo Traveller passenger van coming from the opposite direction rammed into him.
Due to the impact, the man died on the spot. After hitting him, the driver fled the scene along with the vehicle. Traffic police visited the spot and have sent the body to Victoria Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
