KOLAR: Thieves, posing as acquaintances, stole gold ornaments from an elderly woman who was alone in a house and fled. The incident took place on Monday night at Avani village, Mulbagal taluk.
The miscreants stole gold ornaments from 70-year-old Papamma, who was living alone in the house, and escaped. The thieves came pretending to be acquaintances, when there was no electricity, injured her ear, and snatched her earrings.
Along with the earrings, they tore off the ear itself and fled. Mulbagal Rural police visited the spot, and have launched a hunt to trace the accused.
