19-km stretch of Namma Metro Blue line to open on trial basis in October

BENGALURU: In some good news for Metro passengers, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) has begun preparations to open another much-awaited 19-km-long Blue Line route from Silk Board to KR Pura. The trial runs likely to begin this October.

The route includes 13 stations — Central Silk Board, HSR Layout, Agasara Halli, Bellandur, Ibbalur, Kadubeesanahalli, Marathahalli, ISRO, Doddanekkundi, and KR Pura. The route is likely to be opened for Metro traffic by the end of December.

Disruption in service

Technical snag in a train running at Cubbon Park Metro Station on the Purple Line led to disruption of service on Tuesday. The maintenance team is fixing the technical snag and Namma Metro has requested passengers to cooperate due to the train disruption.
