BENGALURU: The state government and the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) have delivered a major shock to B-khata holders who had applied for conversion to A-khata.
Thousands of property owners had applied for A-khata and paid fee at 5 per cent of the guidance value. The fee was later reduced to 2 per cent of the guidance value and B-khata property owners who had paid 5 per cent of guidance value are asking for a 3 per cent refund. However, the GBA is saying it will not return the money.
About 2,000 B-khata holders have been delivered injustice by the GBA which has confirmed that money will not be refunded to property owners who applied by paying 5 per cent of guidance value. The GBA argument is that if the fee had been increased to 7 per cent of guidance value, would the property owners have paid the additional amount.
Meanwhile, after the guidance value rate became 2 per cent, there has been good response for B to A khata conversion. So far, 27,000 applications have been submitted for B to A khata conversion and GBA has started the process.
