Man stabbed by friend over old rivalry, 2 arrested

BENGALURU: A 27-year-old man was stabbed by his long-time friend and the latter’s associates over a trivial issue in Soladevanahalli. The police have arrested two people in this connection.

The victim Ravikiran is a resident of Kodipalya in Bengaluru North taluk. The accused Narasimha and Chandan, attempted to murder him due to old enmity. Ironically, Chandan, Ravikiran and Narasimha were friends who shared meals from the same plate.

Several years ago, Ravikiran had assaulted Narasimha over a trivial matter. Nursing a grudge over this, Narasimha had planned to murder Ravikiran. Accordingly, Narasimha had purchased a dagger three months ago.

Ravikiran, who drove an auto, was called by Chandan to a bar in Madavara and all three consumed alcohol. Later, Chandan and Narasimha told Ravikiram to drop them at near Acharya Layout. Accordingly, all three came in the auto.

As Ravikiran was getting out of the auto, Narasimha stabbed him with a knife indiscriminately and escaped.
Ravikiran was shifted to a private hospital and an attempt to murder case was registered at Soladevanahalli police station. After registering the case, police arrested Narasimha and Chandan.
