BENGALURU: The South Western Railway has renamed the Mysuru-Bengaluru Tippu Express and Wodeyear Express with effect from Saturday, October 8. Likewise, the Talaguppa-Mysuru Express will be known as the Kuvempu Express.
After its renaming, the first Wodeyar Express from Mysuru arrived at the Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna (KSR) City railway station in Bengaluru on Saturday morning.
The South Western Railway headquarters at Hubballi issued the notification on the naming and renaming of the two trains on Friday.
Immediately after the announcement was made, Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha tweeted thanking Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi for accepting the demand.
