Met officials predict rain for four days across Karnataka

BENGALURU: Heavy rain has been predicted by the meteorological department across the state for four days starting from Thursday. An orange alert has been sounded for Bengaluru on Thursday while a yellow alert has been issued for the next three days.

Rain alert has been issued for all except four districts on Thursday with an orange alert for eight districts including Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Chikkaballapur, Tumakuru, Raichur, Yadgir, Kalaburagi and Bidar. A yellow alert has been sounded for the remaining 19 districts.

Met officials say there is a possibility of moderate rain in Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Koppal and Gadag districts while and orange alert has been issued on May 22 for Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur. A yellow alert has been issued for 17 districts of south-interior Karnataka including Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural.

On May 23, an orange alert has been issued for Bidar and Kalaburagi while a yellow alert has been sounded for 19 districts south- and north-interior Karnataka including Bengaluru.
