BENGALURU: Days after the CBI filed a ‘B’ report in the Paresh Mesta murder case, right wing organisations are now demanding the government to conduct a fresh probe into the incident to bring out the truth.
Five years after the CBI took over the probe, it has reportedly filed a ‘B’ report in the Paresh Mesta murder case before a designated court. Paresh Mesta (18) was found dead at Shettikere in Honnavar in December 2017. His alleged murder case created massive outrage in the coastal region. The BJP used this as a poll plank ahead of the Assembly election.
Hindu Janajagruthi Samithi spokesperson Mohan Gowda said, “There are chances that evidence was destroyed in the Paresh Mesta murder case. Hence, the case should be reopened and investigated properly.” He also claimed that CCTV footage from a jewellary shop was damaged.
Terming the ‘B’ report in the case as really shocking, Gowda said Mesta was brutally murdered by miscreants and his face was fully burnt. “After the incident, CCTV footage was also tampered with. There is a conspiracy behind the murder”, he alleged.
In a social media post, Mohan Gowda also pointed out that the main accused in the case, Jamal Azad, was recently appointed as district vice-president of the wakf board and it was cancelled after outrage. “There are shortcomings in the investigation of six Hindu workers killed earlier too,” he claimed.
