BENGALURU: Illegal Bangladeshi immigrants seem to be involved in criminal activities in Bengaluru with allegation that they are being brought to the city and made to commit thefts and robberies.
The Hindu Jagarana Vedike handed over two illegal immigrants to the police — Mohammad Albeer and Mohammad Shakib — who admitted to be Bangladeshi nationals. The two individuals confessed to the police that they were Bangladeshi nationals, and that some people were making them commit thefts. They also made serious allegations against a person named Yameen alias Ameen from Bannerghatta.

It is alleged that a person named Ali is bringing several people from Bangladesh. The two Bangladeshi youths came to Bengaluru about 11 years ago. They were caught by Hindu Jagarana Vedike activists on Sunday afternoon. The duo alleged that a person named Ameen was using them to commit thefts.

“He assaulted me so badly that I couldn’t walk because I didn’t commit theft”, one of them said. “He specifically tells us to steal only from Hindu temples. Earlier, he made us beg, now he is making us steal. We have stolen from several temples including Champak Temple in Bannerghatta”, he added.

“There are 74 more people from Bangladesh with us. They are in Basavanapura, Bannerghatta. Not just theft, he has kidnapped and sold children. There is a drug business too. We escaped from him. For one theft, he gives us Rs 300-400, he doesn’t give more money saying we’ll leave the city if he pays more. Ameen has kept my mother as a hostage”, the duo alleged.

The Hindu Jagarana Vedike has handed over the Bangladeshi youths to KR Puram police. A complaint was filed by one Prashanth and the two youths were handed over to the police. Further investigation is under way.
