BENGALURU: A man and three of his relatives have been arrested for murdering another man who was following his daughter. The victim Ramesh had allegedly had been following the daughter of the main accued.
The accused had murdered Ramesh in Bengaluru and threw the body into a stormwater drain before escaping. Police have arrested the girl’s father Eraiah, Chinnaiah, Chetan, and Charan.

The deceased Ramesh and the accused are originally from Mudhol taluk in Bagalkot district. Ramesh was staying at the girl’s house while she was studying. He had gone to Dubai for work for some time. After returning, he expressed interest in marrying the girl who was staying at his house. But the girl’s family was not willing to give her to Ramesh.
Ramesh was pressuring the girl to marry him even though she was not yet 18. Bagalkot police had filed a case against Ramesh and sent him to jail under the POCSO Act.
Meanwhile, the father Eeraiah had admitted the girl to a college in Bengaluru for her studies. After coming out of jail, Ramesh started following the girl again and began pressuring her to marry him. Eeraiah got angry because Ramesh was once again following his daughter.

Eeraiah conspired with relatives to kill Ramesh. They tracked down Ramesh in Bengaluru and met him. They invited him for a meal, fed him, and made him drink alcohol. The accused then strangled him with a rope and killed him. After that, they threw Ramesh’s body into the Allalasandra stormwater drain and fled.
A case was registered at the Yelahanka police station. Police had initially registered it as a suspicious death. They have now conducted an investigation, arrested the accused, and are questioning them.
