SHIVAMOGGA: A man died after he drowned in the Tunga river in Thirthahalli town, on Wednesday. Akshay (29), who hailed from Seebinakele in Thirthahalli taluk, went missing while swimming in the river.
Akshay had left behind his mobile phone, shoes and clothes on a rock and entered the river. Despite searches by the fire department and locals, he wasn’t found initially.
On Wednesday morning, the search operation was resumed with Eshwar Malpe and team joining the search effort. Later, the body of Akshay (26) , was found in the Tunga river. The Thirthahalli police have registered a case.
