BENGALURU: The Kempegowda International Airport police have arrested a man for making false allegations against them on social media.
Utkarsh Gautam was initially arrested for allegedly consuming liquor on an IndiGo flight from Jaipur and attempting to open the safety door mid-air. He had also allegedly abused and threatened the cabin crew. The IndiGo Airlines staff had filed a complaint, and the police had initially registered an Non-Cognisable Report (NCR) and released Utkarsh.
However, he later posted a false and derogatory message on Instagram, claiming that the police had detained him unnecessarily. The police have now taken suo motu cognizance and arrested Utkarsh for making false allegations.
