BENGALURU: A controversy has erupted at Sri Siddhartha Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre (SSIMRC) in T Begur, Nelamangala in Bengaluru Rural district after an assistant professor allegedly propositioned a female student in class. The educational trust running the college is owned by Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara.
The teacher, Abdul, an assistant professor of microbiology, is accused of proposing to a girl student and offering chocolates to the others. When she rejected him, the students got angry and assaulted Abdul, hitting him with shoes. The students allege that Abdul has a history of similar behavior and has been accused of harassment before.
According to reports, Abdul was going through a divorce and was reportedly mentally disturbed. He had allegedly been involved in similar incidents at other hospitals, including Bowring Hospital and in Tumakuru, and was even expelled from Tumakuru hospital.

Despite this, the college administration had not taken any action against him, and he was allowed to continue teaching. The students took matters into their own hands and attacked Abdul, chasing him out of the campus. The college administration has finally filed a complaint against Abdul, and the police have registered a case under Sections 74, 75, and 329(3) of the BNS Act.
A video of Abdul behaving strangely at a sports ground has also surfaced, showing him collecting stones, exercising, and behaving erratically. The video has raised concerns about his mental state. The police are investigating the matter, and Abdul is currently missing. The incident has sparked outrage, with demands for action against Abdul and better safety measures for students.
