BENGALURU: A 23-year-old woman, identified as Ranjitha, was allegedly strangled to death by her live-in partner Ayyappa at Varthur in the city. The couple, originally from Kodagu, had been living together in a rented house.
According to police, Ayyappa was already married, and this led to frequent quarrels between the couple. On the night of the incident, Ayyappa took Ranjitha inside their rented house, and she was found dead on the bed.
Ayyappa initially claimed that Ranjitha had hanged herself, but police investigation revealed signs of strangulation. The police suspect foul play and have arrested Ayyappa. A case has been registered at Varthur police station.
The landlord Gopal said that Ranjitha worked at a D-Mart, while Ayyappa ran a dry fruits shop.The landlord said that Ayyappa had staged a fake suicide scene with Ranjitha’s body positioned to look like she had hanged herself from a fan. However, the police investigation revealed that she had been strangled.
