Man burnt alive after car catches fire near Chikkaballapur

CHIKKABALLAPUR: A 70-year-old man was burnt to death after a fire broke out in his car near Achepalli Cross, suspectedly due to an electrical short circuit on Sunday night.

The victim, Uday Kumar from Penumale village, was driving back to Bengaluru after visiting his mother when the incident occurred. Locals tried to rescue him, but could not.

The police have launched an investigation, and the body was sent to the Bagepalli government hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination. The incident is being treated as suspicious, with possibilities of an accident and foul play being explored. A case has been registered at Bagepalli police station and further investigation is under way.
