BENGALURU: Temples in Bengaluru and other parts of the state closed on Tuesday due to the lunar eclipse. Normal puja was performed from morning to noon. The temples closed before the eclipse began and devotees were not be allowed to enter during this time.
After the eclipse, the temples will be purified and devotees will be allowed to offer prayers. The lunar eclipse was visible starting at 3.27 pm and ending at 6.46 pm. Although it won’t be visible in Karnataka, its effects will be felt.
Special pujas are being performed in major temples in Bengaluru and other parts of the state. The temples will be closed during the eclipse, and special puja will be performed before and after the eclipse.
Blood Moon Eclipse: Special puja and purification in major temples in Bengaluru
- Kadu Malleshwara Temple: Closed from 12 pm to 7 pm. Special puja and abhishekam after the eclipse. Special puja and abhishekam followed by darshan for devotees until 12 pm.
- Banashankari Temple: Closed from 12.30 pm to 7 pm. Special hunnime abhishekam and puja followed by special abhishekam and decoration after the eclipse.
- Gavi Gagangadhareshwara Temple: Closed from 9 am to 7.30 pm. Special puja and abhishekam followed by jalabhishekam and Maha abhishekam.
- Bandi Mahakali Temple: Open from 6 am to 10 pm. Special puja and homa will be performed.
- Annamma Temple: Closed from 3 pm to 7 pm. Special puja and abhishekam after the eclipse. Special milk abhishekam and flower decoration followed by Ganga abhishekam and panchamrit abhishekam after the eclipse.
- Vijayanagar Shani Temple: Special puja and abhishekam followed by Grahana Shanti and Sathyanarayana puja on Wednesday.
