MYSURU: A man attacked his niece, a PUC student, in Palya village in Nanjangud taluk after she refused to drop out of school. The attacker Somanna is the girl student’s uncle.
Somanna allegedly entered the girl’s house and attacked her with a stick, saying she shouldn’t study. He also attacked her family members who intervened. The student, Poornima, has been hospitalised.
The police have registered a case against Somanna and six others at Nanjangud Rural police station. Poornima was allegedly being raised by Somanna, who wanted her to drop out and not have a good future.
