BELAGAVI: A 52-year-old man was arrested by the Gokak police in Belagavi district for carrying an unlicenced revolver in his car. The arrested was identified as Ramesh Chouhan, a resident of Bagalakot district.
The police stopped Chouhan and searched his SUV at Court Circle in Gokak city, when they found the revolver. Further investigation revealed that the gun licence had not been renewed, and Chouhan did not have the necessary licence.
The police have registered a case under the Arms Act and taken Chouhan into custody. The case is being investigated by the Gokak city police.
