Woman dies in chain-snatching incident at Huskur in Nelamangala

BENGALURU: A woman was robbed of her gold chain and she died under suspicious circumstances at Huskur near Nelamangala on Monday. The victim, Jyothi (45), was found dead in front of her house, with her gold chain missing. The incident happened early in the morning when Jyoti was sweeping the front yard of her house.

According to eyewitnesses, two men on a bike came and attacked Jyothi, spraying something on her face, which caused her to collapse and die. The attackers then snatched her gold chain and fled the scene. The victim’s family members are in shock and are grieving her sudden demise.

The police have registered a case of suspicious death and are investigating the incident. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest), Nagesh, said that the police are trying to identify the attackers. He also said that the victim’s family had reported that she was wearing a 70-gram gold chain, which is now missing.

The police have sent the victim’s body for post-mortem examination and are waiting for the results to determine the cause of death. The police are also reviewing CCTV footage to identify the attackers.

The incident has caused panic among the local residents, who are demanding justice for the victim. The police have assured the family that they will do everything possible to catch the attackers and bring them to justice.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Northwest) Nagesh said, “The incident occurred around 5.30 am on Monday near Huskur. Jyothi, aged 42, has died under suspicious circumstances. The woman was found dead in the compound of her house. She had gone out saying she was going to the bathroom, but didn’t return. Her husband went to look for her and found her dead”.

“We are trying to determine the cause of her death. Her necklaces and earrings are missing. We have no information about any spray or attack. The earrings are still at home, but the necklace is missing. The investigation will reveal how she died and what happened to the necklace”, the DCP added.
