BENGALURU: Two minors riding a two-wheeler knocked down an elderly woman near Club Road in Nandini Layout, causing her serious head injuries. The accident occurred around 11.54 am on Monday and was captured on CCTV camera.
The woman was walking on the road when the two-wheeler suddenly hit her, throwing her to the ground. Locals immediately rushed her to a private hospital for treatment. The bike riders, who are minors, tried to flee, but were caught by locals and handed over to Nandini Layout police.
Since the accident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Rajajinagar traffic police station the case is likely to be transferred. The police are considering filing an FIR against the father of the minors for giving them the two-wheeler as they are not of legal driving age.
The woman’s family members could not be traced until Monday evening, but they have since been located, and the police will take a statement from them today before registering the case. The traffic police have seized the two-wheeler involved in the accident.
