MADIKERI: A private bus caught fire and was completely burned on the road near the Anjaneya temple at Magadipare in Virajpet taluk on Monday. The bus was travelling from Virajpet to Kerala via the Makutta route and was completely damaged.
The bus, registered in Kerala, was on its way back to Kerala after dropping off tourists in Mysuru when it caught fire due to a technical fault. The driver and conductor were the only ones on board, and they escaped unhurt.
Firefighters responded to the scene and extinguished the flames. The Virajpet Rural police visited the site and are investigating the incident. The road connecting Virajpet to Kerala was blocked due to the incident.
