RAMANGARA: A police head constable was found dead in a lake at Shettihalli in Channapatna taluk under suspicious circumstances, raising suspicions of foul play. The deceased is Lakshman (51).
Lakshman, who worked at Channapatna traffic police station, was absent from duty on Monday and his phone was switched off. His body was discovered on Tuesday morning, with his helmet still on and his motorcycle parked near the lake.
The cause of death is unclear and police are verifying if it was an accident or suicide. Channapatna Rural police have visited the scene and are investigating. The body has been taken for a post-mortem at the taluk hospital. The police have registered a case and are probing further.
