BENGALURU: Two boys, who had gone swimming, drowned in a pond at Balluru village near Attibele in Anekal taluk on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The deceased were identified as Aniket Kumar (12), originally from Bihar, and Rehmat Baba (11) from Kadri near Andhra Pradesh.
On Saturday evening, the children were playing near their house and went to the pond to swim. However, they drowned and died. Despite extensive searches by the children’s parents on Saturday, the boys were not found.
On Sunday morning, local residents noticed the bodies floating in the pond and immediately informed the Attibele police. The police department, along with fire brigade personnel, retrieved the bodies and sent them to the hospital for post‑mortem examination. A case has been registered at the Attibele police station.
