Social activist attacked by gambling mafia in Kampli

BALLARI: A social activist was attacked by the gambling mafia at Kampli town in the district. The attack was carried out after the activist, Narayana Swamy, reported to the police about a group of people playing cards in a godown.

Narayana Swamy had previously exposed a matka gambling racket and was attacked by the mafia. This time, the attackers brutally beat him up, causing injuries to his head, face, hands, and legs. Swamy is undergoing treatment at Kampli Government Hospital.

Narayana Swamy alleged that the police are involved in the attack and that they are colluding with the gambling mafia. He claimed that the police informed the gambling mafia about his complaint and even sent them to attack him.

Swamy made serious allegations against police inspector Vasu Kumar, saying that he is supporting the mafia by taking bribes. Swamy stated that law and order has broken down in Kampli and gambling is being run openly with police protection.
