BALLARI: Hundreds of students at the government-run Ambedkar Hostel No. 3, in Ballari, have stopped consuming meals after finding worms in their food. The students of the residential facility, which comes under the Department of Social Welfare, have been complaining about poor quality food and lack of basic amenities.
The students found worms in their meals, leading to widespread discontent and fear of falling ill. They blamed the hostel warden and the authorities concerned for neglecting the problems plaguing the hostel. Students are only given food if they have a token, leaving those without tokens to go hungry, they pointed out.
The hostel lacks basic amenities, and students have been complaining about the situation. They have demanded better living conditions and food quality. So far, the authorities have not taken any action on their complaints.
