CHIKKAMAGALURU: Two sisters died suspiciously within a span of one day while the youngest girl is seriously unwell, at K Kanabur village in NR Pura taluk. The three girls are the daughters of one Manjaiah, a resident of the village.
Spoorthi and Swathi were first admitted to a hospital in NR Pura with complaints of fever. However, after their limbs started swelling, they were shifted to McGann Hospital in Shivamogga.
Both girls dies within a span of one day while the youngest daughter of Manjaiah is undergoing treatment in hospital. However, the exact cause of the girls’ death had not been determined.
In another incident, a 27-year-old man, who had jumped into the swirling waters of the Bhadra river at Balehonnur in an apparent suicide bid, was rescued after he started screaming for help while stuck in a submerged tree, on Friday night.
Aniketh was first spotted on a bridge across the Bhadra river at Balehonnur around 4 pm and was sent away by the police. However, he jumped into the river around 8.30 pm and was swept away for some distance till he got stuck in a submerged tree.
After Aniketh started screaming for help, the police, along with some locals, managed to rescue him from the water.
