CHIKKABALLAPUR: Two people riding on a motorcycle were killed after a car knocked them down from behind near Vishwanathapura on National Highway-648 in Devanahalli taluk on Sunday evening. The car driver did not stop after the accident.
The motorcycle riders were on their way from Devanahalli towards Doddaballapur when the car, coming from behind, switched lanes suddenly, crashed into them and fled. In CCTV footage, the car can be seen running over the pillion rider while the rider was thrown off.
The car dragged the motorcycle for about 100 metres before the driver fled with the vehicle. A two-wheeler rider coming up the wrong way on the highway shoulder had a narrow escape.The hit-and run accident occurred on the highway section connecting Dobbspet and Hoskote.
