RAICHUR: Thieves stole a garbage-carrying vehicle after breaking the gate of the town panchayat office gate. The vehicles were parked inside the office compound in Sirivara in Kavithala.
The thieves managed to escape with one of the vehicles. The vehicles had been recently insured after funds were released for fuel.
Out of four garbage disposal vehicles, one, valued at approximately Rs 8 lakh, was stolen. The theft occurred on Saturday, when the office was closed for the second Saturday of the month. The thieves seem to have planned the theft carefully, taking advantage of the holiday.
A case has been registered at the Kavithala police station and further investigation is under way.
