Passengers injured in separate bus accidents in Karwar, KGF

The bus and lorry narrowly missed falling into the valley.

KARWAR, KOLAR: About 25 passengers of a private bus plying from Bengaluru to Goa had a providential escape after collided with a lorry near Arebail Ghat in Yellapur taluk on Wednesday.

Both the bus and the multi-axle lorry narrowly missed going over the edge and falling into a valley. The bus passengers suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital. It is said that negligent driving by the bus driver led to the accident. A case has been registered at the Yellapur police station.

In another incident, a bus ferrying employees of a private company overturned after the driver lost control, near the BEML officers’ quarters in KGF, Kolar district, early on Wednesday morning. Eight people sustained injuries in the accident.

The bus, carrying employees of the Tata mobile phone unit at Narasapur, hit a road divider and overturned. There were 20 people inside the bus at the time of the incident. The injured employees were shifted to the government hospital in KGF for treatment. A case has been registered at the BRML Town police station.
