BENGALURU: A man beheaded his wife after catching her red-handed with her boyfriend at Heelalige village near Chandapura, in Anekal, on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Friday night.
The accused is Shankar (28), a resident of Kachanakkanahalli near Hennagara, and the victim, his wife, Manasa (26), a resident of Hebbagodi. The husband allegedly killed his wife due to her extramarital affair.
Manasa and Shankar had fallen in love and got married and had shifted to a rented house in Heelalige village a month ago. On June 3, Shankar had left for work, saying he would return the next day. However, he finished his work early and returned home late at night, and he found his wife with her boyfriend, according to Bangalore Rural SP C K Baba.
Enraged, Shankar attacked both of them. He had previously sent his wife away with her lover, telling her he didn’t need her. However, Manasa continued to harass him, visiting his home and causing trouble. Fed up with the situation, Shankar beheaded his wife and took her decapacitataed head to Suryanagar police station, where he surrendered.
The SP said, “The couple, who have a child, had been having disputes over the last 10 days about her illegal relationship. On Friday afternoon, they again had a heated argument and Shankar carried out a gruesome murder of his wife by decapacitating her head from the body. We are investigating from all angles, including the involvement of the paramour”. The police have registered a case, arrested the accused, and are conducting further investigation.
