FIR registered in Mysuru over threat message to activist Puneeth Kerehalli

A social media post threatened the activist of life.

MYSURU: The Udayagiri police have registered a first information report (FIR) against Udayagiri resident Akram Khan over a social media post threatening Hindu activist Puneeth Kerehalli. The post, captioned ‘Next you’, noted that Puneeth will be killed as revenge for Idris Pasha’s death.

Idris Pasha, a cattle transporter, and two others were transporting cattle from Mandya to Tamil Nadu when they were intercepted by cow vigilantes. Pasha was later found dead and Puneeth and four of his associated were charged with the murder.

Puneeth also reportedly received threat calls on WhatsApp. The Udayagiri police registered the FIR after securing permission from a court.
