BENGALURU: A speeding SUV, being driven by a group of students from Christ University, plunged into the Bhujangadasaiah lake at Chinnaiahnapalya in Anekal taluk on Friday. While five of the occupants managed to come out, two others, who were following in a two-wheeler are missing.
The SUV was being driven at high speed on the lake bund when it plunged into the lake. It is suspected that the students may have been inebriated at that time. Some locals who noticed the accident, got a crane to pull out the vehicle.
The Bannerghatta police, who visited the spot, surprisingly let the students go home and have not even filed a case. The Mahindra XUV 500 SUV was pulled out using a crane.
