BENGALURU: Indian Air Force Wing Commander Shiladitya Bose and Vikas Kumar, a private company employee, have earler traded charges against each other after they were involved in a road rage incident near Gopalan Grand Mall near C V Raman Nagar. While Vikas had claimed that Shiladitya assaulted him after their vehicles grazed, the latter had alleged that Vikas provoked him.
Vikas’s older brother Bharath said, “Vikas was returning home from a fair when the incident occurred. Shiladitya assaulted Vikas without provocation and even bit his hand. Everything is clearly visible in CCTV footage. Even though some locals came to free him, the wing commander assaulted them also. He bit Vikas in the hand and scratched his face. My brother is not guilty. Even though the wing commander is guilty, no action has been taken against him so far. Justice should be given to my brother”, he said while demanding action against Shiladitya.
The police have registered an FIR against Shiladitya for attempt to murder under Sections 109, 115(2), 324, and 352 of BNS. Vikas was taken into custody, but was later released on station bail. A Kannada organisation has also filed a complaint against Shiladitya Bose for allegedly disturbing linguistic harmony.
Shiladitya claims that Vikas provoked him and he acted in self-defence. He alleges that Vikas tried to attack him and he responded to protect himself and his wife.
Vikas’s mother Jyothi too demanded justice for her son and wants action to be taken against Shiladitya. She claims that Shiladitya used abusive language and assaulted her son, who is still traumatized by the incident. The police are investigating the matter, and both parties will be called for further questioning.
Vikas’s mother Jyothi, said, “The incident occurred around 6.30 am on that day, and my son came home at 7:30 am and narrated the entire incident to me. He told me that the wing commander assaulted him without any provocation. I didn’t lodge a complaint immediately thinking it was a minor issue. But now, I demand justice for my son”.
“The wing commander used abusive language and assaulted my son. He even bit Vikas’s hand. My son was defending himself, and the wing commander’s actions were unprovoked. The CCTV footage will reveal the truth”, she added.
“The police have taken action, and the wing commander has been booked under various sections. My son was released on station bail, and we are waiting for justice. The wing commander should apologise for his actions and acknowledge his mistake. The incident has sparked outrage, and we demand strict action against the him. My son’s future is at stake, and I request the authorities to take this matter seriously”, Vikas’s mother demanded.
