KALABURAGI: A man murdered his wife and two children and later committed suicide by hanging at Ghabare Layout here on Wednesday evening. The killing and suicide was apparently a result of a domestic dispute.
Santoshkumar Koralli was working as a senior accountant with the power utility Gescom. On Wednesday evening, he returned from work, killed his wife Shruthi and children Munish and Anish (4 months old) by strangulating them and later committed suicide by hanging.
Prior to ending his life, Santosh left behind a six-page death note, called his brother-in-law and told him that everything had ended. He also sent his location on WhatsApp, said that their bodies should not be identified after they start smelling and hung up.
After news of the triple murder spread like wild fire, hundreds of people gathered near the house. Police Commissioner Dr Sharanappa, who visited the spot, confirmed that the deaths were a result of domestic dispute and added that the bodies were sent to the GIMS hospital for autopsy.
Santosh got married to Shruthi who hailed from Bidar about 10 years ago. While everything was fine in the initial few years, the couple had disputes for the last 7-8 years. Both had cut off links with their families and had not even invited their relatives for the naming ceremony of their second child, family sources said. Santosh had even planned to buy a flat and move in there, they added.
The Station Bazaar police have registered a case and taken possession of the death note. Further investigation is under way.
