CHITRADURGA: A 51-year-old man has been arrested by the women’s police for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl. The accused was identified as Sadiq.
The man had allegedly lured the victim with the promise of buying her ice cream and sexually assaulted her. The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of the women’s police station and a case under the POCSO Act has been registered against the acccused.
In another case, the CEN police have arrested five people for illegally selling Tossex antitussive cough syrup. The arrested are Syed Sadat, Imran Pasha, Sadiqullah, Hanumareddy of Andhra Pradesh and Manjunath of Ballari.
The police have seized bottles of the cough syrup, one autorickshaw, three mobile phones and cash of Rs 2,500 from the accused and a case has been registered at the CEN police station.
