The ambulance carrying Mukhtar was stuck as the railway gates were closed to allow a train to pass.

KALABURAGI: A man who had suffered a seizure while playing cricket and later had a heart attack in Sedam on Wednesday night, died enroute to a hospital in Kalaburagi as a road was blocked to allow movement of a train to a cement factory. The deceased was identified as Mukhtar.

The man was being taken to the Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) in an abulance, but the vehicle was forced to stop as the railway gates were closed to allow a goods train from the Vasavadatta Cement factory. Mukhtar died enroute to the Kalaburagi hospital.

Family members of the deceased staged a protest in front of the factory on Wednesday night and vented their anger at the authorities. They demanded that either the railway tracks be moved or the timings of the train be changed.
