BENGALURU: A 60-year-old man killed his own daughter over a family feud at Dhanalakshmi Layout in Kodigehalli in the city on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Asha (32), who worked as a lecturer and the accused has been identified as Ramesh (60), a retired employee of BEL.
Asha got married in 2020, but after two years, she separated from her husband and stayed with her parents. According to her father, she was harassing and fought a lot with him, her mother and her younger sister. On Wednesday night, they had a fight over a minor issue and after that, they had dinner and went to sleep. After midnight, her father hit her on the head with a stick and murdered her, killing her on the spot.
A case has been registered at the Kodigehalli police station. The police have arrested the father and further investigation is under way.
“On Thursday morning, we got a call from a house in the Dhanalakshmi Layout saying that an unnatural death had occurred. After preliminary examination, we learnt that she had been seriously injured and had died. Later, we got to know that the father had killed his daughter. We have arrested him and further investigation is under way”, said B M Laxmi Prasad, Deputy Commissioner of Police, North East Division, Bengaluru City.
