BENGALURU: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) have arrested six history-sheeters for kidnapping a businessman who demanded repayment of a loan.
The kidnapped businessman Manoj (28) was acquainted with rowdy Rajesh a.k.a Appi. About a year ago, Rajesh got Manoj to lend Rs 1.20 lakh to producer Nandakishore. When Nandakishore failed to repay the principal amount and interest, Manoj started pressuring Rajesh.
On the day of Gowri festival, Rajesh called Manoj to come to Nandakishore’s house, promising to repay the loan. However, Manoj was kidnapped by Rajesh and his accomplices, including Bakery Raghu, Anna Seena @ Srinivas, Loki, Soma, Rajesh and Naveen, near Nandakishore’s old apartment in Basaveshwaranagar.
The kidnappers forced Manoj to transfer Rs 3 lakh to their account and threatened to kill his family members if he didn’t pay an additional Rs 10 lakh. Manoj was later released after paying the ransom and after he promised to raise the remaining amount. Based on Manoj’s complaint, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested six rowdies.
