BALLARI: A fire broke out in a lorry carrying Yamaha motorcycles at Auto Nagar in Ballari city on the Anantapur road resulting in the destruction of 40 motorcycles worth Rs 45 lakh.
The lorry, which was parked on the roadside, suddenly caught fire and the flames engulfed the vehicles. The driver, who was sitting in the lorry, managed to escape unhurt. The lorry had arrived in Ballari from Chennai and was headed to a showroom when the incident occurred.
Firefighters responded to the scene and brought the blaze under control, but the bikes were already damaged beyond repair. A case has been registered at the Gandhinagar police station in Ballari. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
