4 arrested for cheating woman of Rs 4 crore on the promise of securing KPSC membership

BENGALURU: Four people were arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police for allegedly cheating a woman of Rs 4 crore on the promise of securing her a KPSC membership. The arrested are Riyaz Ahmed, Yusuf, Rudresh, and Chandrappa.

The four cheated Prof Neelamma Belamagi from Kalaburagi by making her believe that they knew Prime Minister  Narendra Modi’s elder brother.

The accused had promised that they would help get her a KPSC membership and had demanded Rs 15 to Rs 20 crore for it. The professor knew Riyaz Ahmed who was working as a translator for politicians. He asked her to apply in 2023.

Accordingly, they took Rs 4 crore in advance from the professor, copied the proceedings and notes of the state government. They prepared fake notes  about recruitment and forged the signatures of the CM and the Governor.

Several others are said to involved in the case and are missing. The CCB police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the others.
