3-year-old child crushed death as man drives car over her in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A 3-year-old child was crushed to death by a car while she was playing in the front yard of Samruddhi Apartment in Kasuvinahalli in the City. The deceased child was Arbina, daughter of Jog Jathar and Anita. The incident was caught on CCTV camera, and has come to light a week after the incident.

In CCTV footage, two children are playing in front of the Samriddi apartment. After a while a car Mahindra XUV-700 can be seen entering the apartment complex and running over Arbina who was playing. She was injured in the shoulder and legs and collapsed there.

The parents immediately rushed the child to a hospital, but she died on the way to hospital due to internal bleeding, as per the postmortem report. The incident happened on December 10, but came to light only now.

The parents had stated that the child had fallen from the top of the building without them being aware of the real incident. Later, the police got suspicious about internal bleeding in the stomach and the chest part of the child and checked the CCTV footage when they learned about the crime that had occurred on that day.

A case has been registered at Bellandur police station against Suman C Keshavadas, the owner of the Mahindra XUV-700 car, for reckless driving causing death.
