BENGALURU: The water problem in Bengaluru has been getting worse over the last month and people are getting desperate for drinking water and for daily use. The government and Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) are making continuous efforts to provide water.
In the meantime, the BWSSB has conducted a survey of water shortage areas in the city which revealed that 257 localities in the city are facing a crisis. The BBMP also says borewells have dried up and groundwater level has also dropped, which is the reason for the water problem.

Zonewise Critical areas identified in Bengaluru:
South Zone
HSR Layout, Bommanahalli, Someshwara slum, Tilak Nagar, Chamarajapet, Chickpet, Hosakerehalli and Yelachenahalli.
West Zone
KaViKa layout, Bapuji Nagar, Rajaji Nagar 6th block, Basaveshwara nagar, Peenya 4th Block, Bagalagunte and Bangarappa Nagar.
East Zone
K R Pura, Ramamurthy Nagar, Marathalli, Devasandra, B Narayanapura, Yamlur, K R Garden, Ejipura, Suddagunte Palya, Sudhamanagar and BM Palya.
North Zone
DJ Halli, Narayana Pillai Road, Vyalikaval, Krishnamma Garden, Vinobha Nagar, Mohan Kumar Nagar, Sagayapuram, Pillanna Garden, Chamundi Nagar, Shampura, Dinnur.
The water supply board has released a list of areas where there is water shortage and plans to supply water through Syntex water tanks.
