TUMAKURU: Bajrang Dal activists in Madhugiri intercepted a lorry and rescued 25 heads of cattle that were being transported illegally, early on Saturday. Three people were taken into custody in connection with the incident.
The activists received a tip-off about the illegal transportation of cattle from Chitradurga to Bengaluru and intercepted the lorry. They found the cattle packed in inhumane conditions and informed the police.
A case was registered against the drivers and owners of the lorry and seized the vehicle while the cattle were safely rescued and handed over to a gaushala. The accused were produced before a court.
