2 held for transporting, selling deer meat, sandalwood billets in Chamarajanagar

CHAMARAJANAGAR: Two people have been arrested in connection with transporting and selling deer meet and sandalwood billets at the Kolipalya checkpost. The deer meat was being transported in a vehicle from the Biligiri Ranganatha Swamy temple tiger reserve.

Bommegowda Bomma had sold the deer meat to Raghavendra Nayak. Both have been arrested and about 30 kg of meat and some sandalwood billets were recovered from the duo.

A case was registered at Chamarajanagar East police station and both the arrested have since been remanded to judicial custody.
