TUMAKURU: Two people died after the pickup truck in which they were travelling crashed into the rear of a moving lorry. The incident occurred on Monday night on NH-48 near Sorekunte in Tumakuru taluk.
The deceased were Shanmuga (50) and another unidentified person. Both the lorry and the Bolero were heading from Bengaluru towards Chitradurga when the pickup truck rammed into the rear of the lorry.
The Kora police have registered a case and begun investigation. Prima facie, it is believed that the Bolero driver was overspeeding, resulting in the accident.
