BENGALURU: A two-day wine festival was organised at Mantri Mall over the weekend in collaboration with the Department of Horticulture and the Karnataka Wine Board.
The Wine Festival 2023 was inaugurated by Karnataka Wine Board Managing Director Somu T and Abhilash Karthik on Saturday and the main attraction of the festival was the pineapple wine. Following Christmas and New Year celebrations, the wine festival attracted wine lovers and the department had organised several activities like tasting of different wines and grape treading, an important process in traditional wine-making.
“This is the first time I’m experiencing the wine festival in Bengaluru. Grape-treading, part of traditional wine-making, was one of the best experiences that I got today. Wine tasting was a great experience as I got to taste different wines”, said Bhumika.
“The Karnataka Wine Board organised the Wine Festival 2023 at Mantri Mall. The idea behind it is to promote wines. It is considered good for health and we have conducted studies on that. We have to consume it in limited quantities as too much consumption is bad. This will indirectly help farmers. Wine treading was organised to promote traditional wine-making”, said Abhilash Karthik, Director of the Karnataka Wine Board.
