VIJAYAPURA: A PUC student committed suicide in the hostel of a private college at Nagarbetta village in Muddebihal taluk on Monday, as she reportedly did not want to study in the science stream.
The deceased has been identified as Padmavathi Sanjaya Meti (17), a resident of Kolamapura in Lingsugur taluk. She was a student at Oxford Patil’s PU Science College. On Monday, she wrote death note and hanged herself in the hostel washroom and died.
In her death note, she wrote, “I do not like to study science. I am going to commit suicide because I know I will get low marks in the exam”. The Muddebihal police visited the spot and have taken up further investigation.
