BENGALURU: A 16-year-old student died after being hit by a private bus around 11.35 am on the Bagalur-Hennur road on Friday. The deceased Varun had passed SSLC in the first division.
The boy suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed while waiting to cross the road. As he fell, a bus coming on the same road ran over him. The rear wheel of the bus crushed the boy, killing him on the spot.
Varun had gone to get medicine as his father was unwell. He was crossing the road in the scorching sun to go to a medical store when he suddenly got caught under a private bus. The visuals of the bus running over the student were recorded on CCTV. A case has been registered at the Hennur traffic police station.
White-topping work is underway on the Bagalur-Hennur road. Vehicles from both sides have to use the same lane, causing heavy traffic congestion along the stretch. People have to wait a long time to cross the road.
